#ZEROIMPUNITY

Zero Impunity is also a great campaign of activism. Collectively, let us create the conditions for the freedom of speech in the public space. Let us put pressure on political, judicial, media and military leaders to move the lines. Together, let’s end impunity!

JOIN THE MOVEMENT

Zero Impunity is also a great campaign of activism. Collectively, let us create the conditions for the freedom of speech in the public space. Let us put pressure on political, judicial, media and military leaders to move the lines. Together, let’s end impunity!

A CITIZEN MOVEMENT

The ZERO IMPUNITY action campaign is first and foremost a citizen performance. At the heart of the action is the desire to send a message to survivors and whistleblowers. The desire to tell them that WE as a society are ready to hear them. By engaging and propagating this dynamic, WE, the citizens, will participate in creating a social, media and political environment conducive to the release of words. This responsibility of ours will allow us to collectively break the taboos and omerta that sexual violence inexorably generates.

ZERO IMPUNITY is a citizen media performance in which hundreds of citizens around the world (in France, Ukraine, Jordan, USA) have agreed to participate in a wild video projection campaign in public spaces. In collaboration with the artist Olivier Crouzel, we proposed to citizens to publicly show their support by making a gesture of liberation addressed to those who free their words. We then projected these support faces onto buildings in New York, Baltimore, Kiev, Odessa, the Ministry of Defence in Paris or the Syrian refugee camp in Zaatari, Jordan. These giant screenings were broadcast in the public space for all to see in order to testify to the need to reclaim the media and public space. This citizen performance is at the heart of the film ZERO IMPUNITY and will continue to awaken the public to our collective strength to free words and thus fight against impunity.

SUPPORT OUR ACTIONS AND JOIN THE MARCH

ZERO IMPUNITY is above all about concrete actions that we carry out in the field with partner NGOs and experts. We use the media that we are thanks to your support to collectively influence political institutions and thus try to change lines, behaviours and mentalities. By signing the petition of one of the actions we are taking, you automatically join the virtual march in support of survivors. The virtual march is a data-visualization of the citizens who support the movement. Today, we are more than 400,000 citizens around the world. When signing the petition you will have the opportunity to leave a comment or message of support that will automatically be visible in the body of the virtual march especially for those who daily free their speech, break the silence, or fight in the field (NGOs, experts, lawyers, doctors etc.).

UKRAINE

Help war victims get justice

Ukrainian laws do not currently allow for the conviction of those responsible for sexual violence in the context of armed conflict. For several years now, ZERO IMPUNITY has been supporting activist Olexandra Matviychuk and her association “Center For Civil Liberties” in Kiev in its bill to amend Ukrainian legislation to bring it into line with international human rights standards. Thanks to your signatures, all this is now possible.

INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT

SUPPORT THE ICC AND ITS PROSECUTOR FATOU BENSOUDA IN HER FIGHT AGAINST THE IMPUNITY OF THE USA

At the ICC, a preliminary investigation into crimes related to the armed conflict in Afghanistan implicates alleged practices of torture and sexual violence by the US military. As we know, the ICC is under the influence of diplomatic pressure from States. In the past, many preliminary examinations and investigations have not been successful. Today, we must therefore mobilize to ensure that the preliminary examination leads first to an investigation and then to a trial. Fatou Bensouda, ICC prosecutor for this ambition. Let us mobilize and help it to fight against the impunity of the American army.

FRANCE

For a training plan in military schools on sexual violence

For a national action plan on a mandatory prevention measure on sexual violence and its consequences during French army external operations. These training courses will be provided to non-commissioned soldiers in officer and non-commissioned officer schools by specialized associations outside the army.
